Roles and Permissions

Master Schedule uses three roles to control what each person can see and do. Your role is assigned by your school's administrator when your account is approved.

Role descriptions

Viewer is a read-only role. Viewers can open the Validator and Academic Calendar to browse schedules, and can open saved items from the Library, but cannot save, edit, or export anything.

Staff can do everything Viewers can, plus build and save validator sessions, place courses in the Academic Calendar, save master schedules, export CSV files, toggle item visibility in the Library, and delete items they have permission to delete.

Admin has full access. In addition to all Staff capabilities, admins can lock and unlock schedules, approve or reject user requests, change user roles, configure school settings, and manage courses and teachers.

Check your role

You can see your current role by clicking your name or avatar in the top-right corner of any page. Your role and school ID appear in the menu.
